I've only been to a concert or two in the Cities, but online, it seems like there is fair amount of live music. First Avenue seems to have a lot of up and coming indie acts. Any favorite venues to recommend? (Of course all this will be prior to July 1 eh).

For entertainment info, I recommend checking out City Pages. I have a friend who works there, and they usually have good music info.
Of course, Minneapolis is known to have The
Minneapolis Sound – think Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, Prince, Janet Jackson, and others like Bob Mould/Husker Du and Soul Asylum
I bought a Built to Spill ticket for June 30 at First Ave. Poor timing on their part. I'm hoping I'm not on call. Anyone is welcome to join me.
